## The Client

[Pega](https://www.pega.com/) is a powerful low-code platform that builds agility into the world’s leading organizations so they can adapt to change. Clients use its AI-powered decisioning and workflow automation to solve their most pressing business challenges – from personalizing engagement to automating service to streamlining operations. Since 1983, the company has built its scalable and flexible architecture to help people focus on what matters most, so they can meet today’s customer demands while continuously transforming for tomorrow.

## The Situation

Pega moved from an outdated SharePoint intranet to a new, reimagined Pega Portal on Drupal. In doing so, the company looked to build something beyond a repository – it wanted to develop a digital hub for Pega employees across the globe.

## The Challenge

Pega’s previous intranet lacked a genuine connection with its audience – ongoing engagement was limited, and the intranet was difficult to update and maintain. Additionally, the organization needed to move away from its outdated “email-only” culture and provide employees with a one-stop shop for the latest Pega news and resources.

## The Solution

Pega did extensive initial research with its 5,500 employees, including surveys, user studies, and focus groups. The data reaffirmed the company’s focus on delivering content in an online newspaper format that highlighted “news you can use” and pinpointed relevant resources. The site also included interesting stories that feature Pega’s innovative spirit and vibrant culture. The intranet portal’s back-end features and functionality allow Pega’s small content team to manage and scale content and resources.

The Pega Portal leveraged several integrations:

- SAP People Central Hub: Syncs with the portal for robust contact search features
- My Worklist: A personalized view of all employee work items sourced from more than 20 applications in the Pega ecosystem

## The Results

With just two full-time employees managing and supporting its intranet, Pega delivered an intranet with 5,000+ pages and 750+ articles. Since deploying the new intranet, total unique page views have increased by 25%, and article readership is up 66%. And employee feedback is positive, with many commenting on the site’s enhanced ease of use, streamlined access, and modern look and feel.
